Introduction
Going back a quarter of a century, Super Play for Halloween was looking at Castlevania, as Vampire’s Kiss was featured on the cover. It got a score of 80%, which was a fairly good score by Super Play’s standards.
In the news, the team looked at the Satellaview add-on for the SNES, which was launched in Japan, as well as a big preview of Yoshi’s Island. Square also announced the first concept models for Final Fantasy VII on the Ultra 64, but we all know that version of the game didn’t make it too much further than that! They also had a good look at Secret of Mana 2, within their Fantasy Section that looked at RPGs.
One of the big features this month looked at some of the Nintendo related web-pages, and boy what a difference these were from now. Very basic design with barely any styling! As always there was plenty of Anima news and reviews, although I wouldn’t profess to know much about this subject!
Other reviews in this issue looked at the USA version of Earthbound, which scored a respectable 88%, A very odd Pac-Man 2, and World Masters Golf among others.
Guides included Theme Park, and the second part of their Jungle Strike guide, as well as tips to beat Front Mission and some of the hardest parts of Final Fantasy III in Final Fantasy Forum. As usual, they answered gamers' questions in Game Freak, and the great Danny Wallace gave various tips and tricks in the Mode 7 section.
