Introduction

Issue 51 promised the review of Banjo Tooie, however although they had completed the game, they only had an extended preview - there was plenty to go on as they looked at various aspects of the game, including some of the moves, the characters and how the dynamic duo split up to complete various tasks. They also looked in a bit more depth at Dinosaur Planet and Mario Party 3, as well as more details on Pokemon Stadium Gold & Silver and Indiana Jones amongst others.

Pokemon was also the star of Planet Game Boy, with the US review of Gold and Silver, as expected it got five stars, with the team praising the innovation offered by the new games. They also gave Mario Tennis five stars, and backgammon four. They also had tips for Pokemon TCG as well as the latest Action Replay codes for Tomb Raider.

Over in reviews, there wasn’t much to write home about on the UK front, with only two licenced games, Tigger’s Honey Hunt (36%) and Rugrats in Paris (67%). However there was better news on the import side of things, with Japanese gem Sin and Punishment scoring 89%. Spiderman and NFL Blitz from the USA both scored 78%

There were a couple of guides this month, covering various hidden things within Perfect Dark as well as various general tips for Mickey’s Raceway USA. With so many Import releases recently, they had a brief guide on playing import games, which was a good update on previous years information. In tips extra there was information on various cheat codes which had finally been uncovered for Banjo Kazooie, including getting the various coloured eggs promised for Banjo Tooie.
