Introduction
Issue 42 finally contained the review everyone had been waiting nearly two whole years for - Perfect Dark, and it didn’t disappoint. The review was a mammoth 14 pags, and took apart everything you needed to know about the game, including all the basics of the missions, the multiplayer and even took apart some of the key moments from the game. They scored it equal second best game on the N64, with 96%, praising the attention to detail and the amount of playability the game had.
Elsewhere there were only two other N64 reviews, with Mario Party 2 scoring an excellent 87% and the Japanese version of Kirby 64 only scoring 72%. Driver was the big game on Game Boy, with five stars.
Andrea and her big stick took over for this issue, whilst Wil got sent off in a box to Rare in exchange for their review copy of Perfect Dark. They managed to get even more information on Majora’s Mask this issue, with the Japanese release only a month away. Whilst they also looked more in-depth at Turok 3.
Guides in this issue covered Tony Hawk’s Skateboarding, the second part of Ridge Racer and Operation Winback. Skill Club Millenium really kicked off this issue, with the first Silver, Gold and even Platinum entries. At the back of the mag Mark looked at some Nintendo games that broke the laws of Physics posing humorous statements in the form of exam questions
